These are the definitions we use for the different areas:
- Carbon reduction includes activities related to decreasing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide.
- Corporate social responsibility relates to the impact a company’s operations have on society, the environment and the economy.
- Mental health is taken as a spectrum from positive to negative, poor mental health is one end, however a mental health difficulty is when someone is unable to cope with poor mental health. Wellbeing can include mental health, physical health, or even financial health. Wellbeing initiatives seek to maintain wellbeing; mental health provision seeks to offer support to those experiencing difficulties.
- Modern slavery can include people trafficking, forced labour, servitude or slavery.
- Occupational health can include activities related to the wellbeing of staff, prevention and recovery from health issues at work.
- Physical health could include ergonomics, exercise, sleep, activity, diet and lifestyle.
- Sustainability is the capacity to maintain or improve environmental health, natural resources, social equality or the community’s economy.
